About Us Events Photos

The Quin-T Democrat Club is a grass-roots organization of and for Democratic activists in southern Clermont County in Southwestern Ohio. Geographically speaking, this area is the "bio-region" between Harsha Lake in Eastfork State Park on its northern border, and the Ohio River to the south. Clermont County is the eastern neighbor of Hamilton County, which is home to the City of Cincinnati. The name Quin-T refers to five townships that originally made up the Club's exact outline - Ohio, Monroe, Tate, Washington and Franklin Townships. At one time, nearly four decades ago now, all fourteen Townships in Clermont County had their own Democrat Clubs. These Clubs faded into history as their members took up more centralized activism in the County Party, County and State candidates' campaigns, and local groups dedicated to various progressive issues (environment, civil rights & the like). The aforementioned five Townships banded their Democrat Clubs together and the result is a group that still flourishes today, although it bears mentioning that Quin-T's membership draws people from other Townships in Clermont County and the occasional member from another county (even State!) sometimes.

Officially, the Quin-T Democrat Club is a County PAC (Political Action Committee), governed by the campaign finance laws of the Ohio Secretary of State's office and overseen by the Clermont County Board of Elections. Each year we elect a slate of officers consisting of a President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer, and biannually we choose a representative to the Clermont County Democratic Party Executive Committee. Annual membership dues are $1. The Club usually puts on two fundraisers each year. The summer fundraiser has become known as "The Feast" and features an outdoor dinner with bar, grills and relaxed ambience. Quin-T distributes all proceeds from this event to Democratic candidates. The Annual Fall Dinner tends to be more formal, less expensive, and includes candidates and speakers at an indoor, catered setting. This dinner raises funds for the Club's operating expenses. We are proud to have on-going support from many Labor Unions throughout Southwestern Ohio for our dinners and proud to stand with them on issues of workers' rights. The Quin-T Democrat Club is serious about actively supporting State and local Democrats, but at both these events we always find ways to make it fun for our patrons.

The purpose of the Club is not merely to raise money, but also to raise awareness of Democratic issues and increase the involvement of local Democratic activists in Clermont County politics. This is where our nearly monthly meetings come into play (we take January & February off). The Club meets on the evening of the first Thursday of the month, at a member's house, in part to discuss our Party, our candidates and our involvement in campaigns. Of course, we also work to keep our fundraising plans moving forward. Along with our gracious host's/hostess's food, it all makes for a lively, enjoyable forum that helps to round one's political experience. If you are interested and in the neighborhood, we'll hope you'll join us!

Remembering Judge Jackson
On February 22, 2010, Judge Charles W. Jackson passed away. The Judge was a life long friend and supporter of the Clermont County Democratic Party and the Quin-T Democrat Club. In 2007, Judge Jackson was awarded the Clermont County Democratic Party "Living Legend Award". The Judge will be sorely missed by all.
